Radiant Heating System

Warmboard Inc., 2015

Role: Lead Mechanical Engineer
Company: IDE
Volume: 1,000

Project goals

Warmsource is Warmboard's radiant floor heating system. The project covered the complete system: thermostats, zone controllers, manifold controllers, a manifold cabinet, water heater integration and the overall system architecture.

Design challenges

A low-profile thermostat. Design a slim, elegant thermostat with an E Ink touch display that installs into a standard junction box.
Boiler integration. Retrofit an off-the-shelf HTP on-demand boiler with Warmboard's smart reset controller (SRC) and plumbing components.
Premium sheet metal. Prototype large sheet metal parts that feel premium when users interact with them.
